Brillant début de course pour Gregg Black qui occupait un moment la 8^ème position, mais qui était hélas éliminé en heurtant un pilote très lent au freinage.

Gregg Black, en progrès constant, faisait un très bon début de course et pouvait espérer terminer en 7^ème position, quand un pilote freina beaucoup trop tôt devant lui et Gregg n’avait plus alors d’autre solution que de le percuter. Mais ce début de course n’en est pas moins très prometteur et nul doute que les résultats seront bientôt là.

 Gregg Black : «J’ai pris un super départ. J’étais dans le bon paquet. Puis je suis remonté en 8^ème position après avoir doublé Savary. Beretta m’a ensuite doublé et j’ai pris sa roue. En bout de la ligne droite, je suis arrivé au freinage sur Schouten qui était extrêmement lent et je l’ai percuté. Il n’y avait rien à faire pour l’éviter. » 

 Michel Garnier, propriétaire du team : « On partait de la 8^ème place, en sachant qu’il n’y avait rien à faire contre les Ducati en vitesse de pointe. On a joué la prudence et fait une course intelligente. Le team est satisfait de cette course dont nous terminons 1^er des Yamaha et 1^er Français. Les points marqués sont précieux pour le championnat dont Sylvain occupe désormais la 6^ème position. La moto est toujours en cours de développement. Gregg a pris un bon départ, mais ensuite n’a pas eu de chance. Parti 17^ème, il était remonté 8^ème avant de percuter un pilote en difficulté, sinon il pouvait terminer 7^ème. Ce n’est que partie remise. On s’améliore, on progresse. »

Gregg Black did very well in the beginning of the race and was for a while in 8^th position, but unfortunately he crashed when he touched a very slow rider in front of him.

 Gregg Black is progressing all the time. He had a good start and he could have finished 7^th when unfortunately a very slow rider braked far too early in front of him and Gregg could not nothing but hit him. But the beginning of the race was the proof that he can do very well and it will be the case in the future.

  Gregg Black: « I had a great start and I was with a good group. I went to 8^th position after I overtook Savary. Beretta passed me and I followed him. But then at the end of the straight a very slow rider braked too early in front of me and I ran into him, there was no way to avoid it.”

 Michel Garnier, team owner: « Sylvain started from the 8^th position on the grid and we knew there was nothing to do against the Ducatis regarding the top speed. We played it cautiously, we did an intelligent race. The team is happy with this race as we are 1^st of the Yamahas and 1^st of the French riders. The points will be very useful for the championship. We are still developing the bike. Gregg had a good start but was unlucky. Otherwise, he could have finished 7^th. He’ll try again in the future. Things are progressing and getting better.”
